For the right moment
To illuminate
The life given
From the darkness
And deep shadows
That have cast doubt
Upon the true nature of the sun
The shiny smiles of youth
The sorrowful slumped shoulders
Of resignation
The arrogant tap shoe walk
Of the slick tricksters of financial clout
The tight expressions of those
That willingly went under the knife
The forlorned tatter
Of the poverty of the misfit
Waiting for the world to change
And all to be loved and accepted
As human beings
Beyond their religious affiliations
Beyond their sexual orientation
Beyond their educational or financial status
Beyond their social or emotional limitations
Beyond their cultural identities or other
Unpardonable transgressions
